Seminar: Behavior and Strength of Reinforced Concrete Beam with Regular Openings
Title of the Seminar: Behavior and Strength of Reinforced Concrete Beam with Regular Openings
Presenter : Mr. Jeger Khairy Ismael
Objectives or Summary:
- To study the best location of the opening depending on the shear failure ,moment ,deflection and crack width.
- To understand the principles of geotechnical modelling.
In practice, transverse openings in Reinforced Concrete, RC, beams are a facility, which allows the utility line to pass through the structure such as a network of pipes and ducts (which is necessary to accommodate essential services like water supply, air-conditioning). openings in the web of a reinforced concrete beam and therefore, the sudden changes in the dimensions of the cross section of the beam; the corners of the opening would be subjected to stress concentration and it is possible to induce transverse cracks in the beam.
Place of the Seminar : Mechanical Engineering department
