The College of Engineering is one of the oldest colleges in UoD with over 1350 undergraduate and graduate students, 123 academics, 22 teaching and research laboratories. It offers a variety of bachelor, master and doctoral programs from five academic departments with active admissions. In the College of Engineering, we strive to develop well educated engineers who have strong technical knowledge along with the practical skills required in the modern world. We consider the role of the student as pivotal in the learning process; hence we encourage students to be innovative, critical thinkers, designers, problem solvers, team-workers as well as communicators and life-long learners. We utilize a range of laboratories and computer facilities to cater for teaching and research.

To be the leading college of engineering in the Kurdistan Region, recognized for excellence in education, impactful applied research and engagement with industry, educating engineers of the future, who create and innovate, sustain the environment and drive economic prosperity across Iraq.
Mission
We aim to serve the Kurdistan community and beyond by preparing engineers with the appropriate technical knowledge and strong social responsibility. We address local and global priorities by conducting applied research and graduating professionals who are able to contribute from day one.
Message from the Dean
Welcome to the College of Engineering at the University of Duhok. I am honored and privileged to lead a community committed to turning knowledge into benefit for our society. We believe that engineering is not just a learned profession, but a calling to improve the world as a better sustainable and fairer place. The College offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in multidisciplinary engineering fields, namely, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and our growing Biomedical Engineering. With great pleasure, I am pleased to say that currently we have an outstanding collaboration with THM University, representing a double degree in Biomedical Engineering, and with tremendous optimism, we plan for further collaborations. At present, we are also working collaboratively on getting ABET accreditation for our programs to ensure our graduates meet international standards. As the saying goes, ‘don’t wait for opportunity, create it’. Therefore, we have solely dedicated our facilities to aiming high and planning high-quality programs focusing primarily on delivering excellence and superiority in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Our strive for success is an ongoing process and my commitment to this university means to achieve and maintain excellence in our duties of education, research and service to our community. We are dedicated to providing exciting educational opportunities to our students so that we, together, can create future professionals in the field of engineering. We welcome students, alumni, industry partners and community stakeholders to engage with us through internships, joint research, guest lectures and advisory roles.
