Title of the workshop: Correlation Between Social Culture and Energy Usage in The Residential Building to Create Sustainable Housing: Case Study Kurdistan Region.

Objectives:
This workshop is a part of the PhD study in the architecture department, Eastern Mediterranean University. In general, energy is the main issue the world faces. In the past three decades, many researchers have tried to fund solutions to reduce the effect of humans in global warming which the main reasons are increasing population and changing lifestyle by reducing greenhouse emissions and energy usage in all sectors.
Kurdistan region like many countries has a shortage in electricity which the energy demands more than double the supply and residential sector considered as the main consumer of electricity by 70%. Therefore, this workshop aims to find the main relationship between, energy usage, architecture design and social culture context in the residential building to create sustainable housing in the Kurdistan region.
The main argument in the workshop will be related to the relationship of the occupant’s lifestyle, social culture relation and architecture design to reduce the energy usage and create sustainable housing.
Note: The presenter (Mr. Diler Haji Morad) will join the workshop from Cyprus throughout the (zoom in app)
