Academic Programs & Curriculum

Our educational frameworks span undergraduate and advanced postgraduate studies, adhering to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and the Bologna Process.

• Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering: A 4-year, 8-semester program (240 ECTS) providing broad-based, interdisciplinary training. The curriculum builds core competence across structural, geotechnical, transportation, environmental, surveying, construction materials, and water resources engineering.
• Postgraduate Programs (M.Sc. & Ph.D.): Specialized master's and doctoral degrees offering advanced academic preparation and dedicated research opportunities in focused sub-disciplines, including structural, environmental, construction materials, traffic, highway, surveying, and water resources engineering.

Research & Regional Impact

Our distinguished academic faculty actively conducts research across diverse fields such as structural mechanics, geotechnical engineering, traffic and highway design, environmental sustainability, and modern construction materials. Research activities specifically target regional infrastructure challenges, environmental preservation, and economic development in Kurdistan and Iraq.

Practical Experience & Facilities

The department bridges theoretical concepts with real-world applications through laboratory testing, computational modeling, field site visits, and a compulsory final-year industrial internship in partnership with public directories and industry leaders. Learning is supported by 14 lecture halls, computer laboratories, and specialized facilities, including:
