Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRS): The Future of Wireless Communication
Presenter:
Ass. Prof. Dr. Faris I. Keti
Host: ECE Department
Title of the Seminar:
Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRS): The Future of Wireless Communication
Objectives or Summary:
Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) has emerged as a promising technique for wireless
communication networks. By dynamically tuning the reflection amplitudes/phase shifts of
a large number of passive elements, IRS enables flexible wireless channel control and
configuration, and thereby enhances the wireless signal transmission rate and reliability
significantly. In this seminar, the architecture, work, benefits, applications, research
directions, and challenges of IRS utilization in emergent communication systems will be
presented and illustrated.
Place of the Seminar:
Seminar Hall – 3 rd Floor – Electrical and Computer Engineering Department –
College of Engineering
