Title of the Seminar: The Urban Design process, Spaces for walking and places for staying, Erbil citadel Urban Park

Summary: The master thesis with applied project which is aimed to clarify the most important factors which make people stay and walk in urban open spaces. This is illuminated based on the body of knowledge and theoretical background from the literature review, comparing and elaborating with the existing situation with in the given site in the city of Erbil. Accordingly, there are some complex criteria in a scientific approach to deal with the urban measurements for walkability, which targeted two different scales. That of the urban areas and street level.

The final output of the design after synthesis and conclusion of the analysis process is embodied in a booklet containing all the pieces of information compiled during the project. This includes the concept, strategies, sketches, final version of the site plan, sections, plantation plan, landscape elements, and lastly the details and visualizations.
