The opening ceremony of the Innovation Unit at the University of Duhok—held in partnership with the Kurdistan Innovation Institute (KII)—took place today, July 20, 2026, at the College of Engineering. The event was attended by a prominent group of senior administrative, political, and academic officials from the governorate, including Dr. Ali Tatar, Governor of Duhok; Dr. Azad Najar, Executive Director of KII; Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atroshi, President of the University of Duhok; Dr. Nawzad Abdullah, Head of the First Branch of the KDP; and Dr. Nashwan Shukri, Dean of the College of Engineering.

The opening of this unit marks an important new step within the university’s efforts to support innovation, forward-thinking, and practical development.
