University of Duhok Showcases Academic Innovation and German-Partnered Degrees at MEETS 2026

Erbil recently played host to the 5th Middle East Education, Technology & Students Exhibition (MEETS 2026), held at the Erbil International Fairground from July 30 through August 2, 2026. The four-day event served as a major regional platform connecting prospective university students, researchers, industry stakeholders, and community advocates.

A joint delegation from the University of Duhok (UoD) - under the leadership of UoD President Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi and College of Engineering Dean Dr. Nashwan Shawkat Mahmood - represented the institution throughout the forum. Representatives from the College of Engineering (Dr. Soleen Jaladet Mohammed Saleh and Mr. Dilsher Idrees Mustafa) and the College of City and Regional Planning (Ms. Lava Nashwan Ramzi), alongside Media Directorate officer Mr. Hussein Ismael Titmy, highlighted the university’s expanding research capabilities, answered questions from prospective applicants, and forged strategic ties with visiting organizations and academic bodies.

Exhibition Highlight:

A central focus for the College of Engineering representatives at MEETS 2026 was introducing future undergraduates to the B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering - a joint international degree program developed in strategic collaboration with THM (Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen / University of Applied Sciences Mittelhessen) in Germany.
