Soleen Jaladet Al-Sofi is a Ph.D. (Staff member) and Head of Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies Unit in College of Engineering, University of Duhok. She received her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), in field of Computer and Software Engineering, from University of Al Mustansiriya, Baghdad – Iraq, in 2002. She completed her Master of Science (M.Sc.), in field of Computer and Software Engineering, specialized in Computer Networks, from University of Al Mustansiriya, Baghdad – Iraq, in 2005. She joined the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Duhok in 2012 as an assistant lecturer. Then she became a lecturer and joined the department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Duhok, in 2019. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering, specialized in Computer Networks, from University of Duhok, Kurdistan-Iraq, in 2025. Her research interests in the area of computer networking, wireless networks, wireless body area networks, wireless sensor networks, bio-networking, biomedical imaging and machine learning, biomedical image processing bio-signals processing. She has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.

• Participated and supervised two student groups from the Biomedical Engineering Department, where each group presented a Biomedical project at MEDICO 2026, held 11–14 August 2026 at the Erbil International Fairground, through MedStars. The projects were Sign Language Translator Glove and Mind-Controlled Motor System
• Participated in a joint delegation from the University of Duhok (UoD) as representer from the College of Engineering at the 5th Middle East Education, Technology, Students Congress & Exhibition (MEETS), held at the Erbil International Fairground from July 30 through August 2, 2026.
• Organized 2nd International Symposium on Recent Techniques in Biomedical Engineering & Graduation Ceremony of Biomedical Engineering Department on November 30, 2025. Also participated and presented two scientific research posters AI-Driven Cross-Layer Enhancement of WBAN Performance for e-Healthcare Applications and IEEE 802.15.6 and LoRaWAN for WBAN in Healthcare: A Comparative Study on Communication Efficiency and Energy Optimization.
• Participated in a joint delegation from the University of Duhok (UoD) as representer from the College of Engineering at the 4th Middle East Education, Technology, Students Congress & Exhibition (MEETS), held at the Erbil International Fairground from 21-24 August 2025.

• Participated in a regional workshop with Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research to represent for the University of Duhok as a Programme Coordinator of Biomedical Department, to Redesign of Programs in Kurdistan Universities and Institutes by Defining Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies, Engagement with Accreditation Standards, Assessment and Evaluation and Curriculum Development & Program Structure at 16th May 2024.
• Conducted Several Courses such as “Computer Skills”, “Microsoft Office Suite”, “How to write a CV” and “Job Interview” for refugee students in the UOD R-SOS Unit during the time period 1st July to 26th August 2019 in Duhok, Iraq (KRI).
• Participated in the RESCUE Study Visit to the University of Barcelona Refugee Support Programme, Barcelona at 12th – 14th June 2019.
• Participated in RESCUE Refugees Education Support in MENA Countries, Study Visit in Rome at Sapienza University, Rome-Italy at 10th – 11th June 2019.
• Trained at the Radiology Department in Azadi General Hospital in Duhok, Iraq (KRI) for three months since 27th March 2019.
• Participated in the DAAD project “Bioniq- Bio/MedPhys” to visit university of applied science, THM Giessen, Germany in the period 1st of October 2018 to the 31st of December 2018.
• Participated in the 2nd International Summer School on Cyprus part of the master course of “Biomedical Engineering” of the module “Signal and Image processing in Medicine”, Cyprus (6 ECTS). (this program was Granted by DAAD).
