About the College of Engineering
The College of Engineering is one of the oldest colleges in UoD with over 1350 undergraduate and graduate students, 123 academics, 22 teaching and research laboratories. It offers a variety of bachelor, master and doctoral programs from five academic departments with active admissions, namely,
- Civil Engineering
- Architectural Engineering
- Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
In the College of Engineering, we strive to develop well educated engineers who have strong technical knowledge along with the practical skills required in the modern world. We consider the role of the student as pivotal in the learning process; hence we encourage students to be innovative, critical thinkers, designers, problem solvers, team-workers as well as communicators and life-long learners. We utilize a range of laboratories and computer facilities to cater for teaching and research.
Mission
We aim to serve the Kurdistan community and beyond by preparing engineers with the appropriate technical knowledge and strong social responsibility. We address local and global priorities by conducting applied research and graduating professionals who are able to contribute from day one.
Vision
To be the leading college of engineering in the Kurdistan Region, recognized for excellence in education, impactful applied research and engagement with industry, educating engineers of the future, who create and innovate, sustain the environment and drive economic prosperity across Iraq.
