Established in 2015 at the University of Duhok’s College of Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering offers 4-year undergraduate (B.Sc.) and postgraduate degree programs designed according to the Bologna Process and ECTS standards. The interdisciplinary curriculum covers core disciplines such as mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and CAD, while emphasizing sustainability, product design, and project management. To prepare graduates for diverse roles across sectors like energy, transportation, and manufacturing, the department combines rigorous academic coursework with hands-on laboratory work, computer simulations, and a mandatory final-year industrial internship.
