Academics from the University of Duhok (UoD) have successfully participated in a significant international research project titled "Promoting Knowledge and Awareness of Groundwater Quality and Quantity in the Nineveh Plain, Iraq, for Healthy, Sustainable, and Inclusive Water Management." We are proud to highlight the participation of Dr. Ali Abduljabbar Yousif as the representative from our College of Engineering (COE). The project also featured the expertise of Dr. Nabaz Ibraheem Mohammed from the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences.

This collaborative initiative, conducted in partnership with the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, focused on groundwater conditions in AlQosh and its surrounding villages. The study addresses the urgent need for sustainable water management to support the diverse communities of the Nineveh Plain. The project was supported by the IHE Delft Water and Development Partnership Programme (WDPP), funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

Project Timeline: January 2025 - December 2025
